Please describe the project.:
EmeTerm is classified by the FDA, Health Canada, CE, and TGA as a Class-II medical device designed to use targeted electrical stimulation via the vagus nerve to downregulate the stimulation of the vomiting center in the brain, reducing nausea and vomiting side effects during motion sickness.
Traveling via cars, boats, and airplanes are some of the most common, yet unavoidable activities that result in motion sickness. With the foreseeable increase in outdoor travelling in the near future, as well as the ever-expanding prospects of self-driving vehicles that have been reported to increase the incidence of nausea and vomiting, motion sickness becomes a continuously growing concern for millions of people worldwide. EmeTerm is an award-winning device developed as a safe alternative therapy for motion sickness that does not involve introducing pharmaceuticals into the body, avoiding any unwanted side effects and unpredictable drug interactions. For this project, the researcher will be performing various tasks and conducting research related to testing motion sickness.
