2025 Carbon Neutrality & Sustainability Report

Introduction

At WAT Medical, sustainability is integrated into the full lifecycle of our non-drug neuromodulation solutions, including EmeTerm for nausea relief and HeadaTerm for migraine management. We believe that true wellbeing is inextricably linked to the health of our planet. The climate crisis is not a distant threat but a present reality, directly impacting ecosystems, communities, and individual health. Our commitment to carbon neutrality is a foundational expression of this belief.

We focus on practical, measurable steps to lower emissions from production to product end-of-life. This report outlines our key actions and measurable progress toward carbon neutrality in 2025.

1. More Sustainable Packaging Materials

Reducing environmental impact begins at the first physical touchpoint: packaging.

In 2025, WAT Medical fully transitioned to 100% FSC®-certified paper materials for all product outer packaging. This ensures that the paper used originates from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.

2. Reduced Packaging Volume

Beyond material selection, packaging efficiency plays a critical role in lowering emissions.

By redesigning packaging structures and optimizing internal layouts, we successfully reduced overall packaging volume by 15% across major product lines. Smaller packaging translates directly into fewer resources consumed and more efficient use of transportation space.

3. Improved Transportation Efficiency

Logistics remains one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions in global operations.

In 2025, WAT Medical increased overall transportation efficiency by 25% through improved shipment planning, consolidation strategies, and route optimization. Most importantly, for international shipments, we prioritized sea freight over air freight whenever feasible. By reduced reliance on high-emission air transport we significantly reducing carbon intensity per unit transported.

4. Cleaner Supplier Manufacturing

Sustainability requires close collaboration with our manufacturing partners. In 2025, the clean energy usage rate among key suppliers increased from 32% to 51%.

We actively encourage and support suppliers in transitioning toward cleaner energy sources.  By replacing combustion-based power generation with electricity and renewable energy inputs, our supplier network has made measurable progress.

5. Product Power Consumption Optimization

Energy efficiency at the product level is essential for long-term sustainability.

Through optimized system layout, component selection, and advanced power management algorithms, WAT Medical achieved significant breakthroughs in core hardware design. These improvements substantially enhanced power conversion efficiency and operational stability.

Overall, the power consumption of the entire EmeTerm product line has been reduced by 15%, and the battery life has been increased by 15%. Here takes our flagship product as an example.

6. Trade-In & Circular Recycling Program

To support a circular economy, WAT Medical introduced a Trade-In program on EmeTerm official website. Users can obtain the discount coupons for purchasing the new device by submitting the information of the old product through the following interface.(Link in Trade in program – EmeTerm Official Store)

Through this initiative, users can return eligible older devices. Our system processes returned products and recovers reusable core components, ensuring that valuable materials are reintegrated into the production cycle rather than becoming electronic waste.

7. Low-Carbon Office Operations

Sustainability extends beyond products and manufacturing into daily operations.

In 2025, WAT Medical continued to promote digital-first office practices, significantly reducing paper usage through electronic documentation, digital approvals, and cloud-based collaboration.

Currently, 70% of internal processes are fully digitized, leading to measurable reductions in paper consumption and operational waste.

Looking Ahead

The progress achieved in 2025 reflects WAT Medical’s long-term commitment to carbon reduction and responsible innovation. While meaningful advances have been made across packaging, logistics, manufacturing, product design, and operations, we recognize that sustainability is a continuous journey.

In the years ahead, we will continue to invest in cleaner energy, smarter design, and circular solutions—working collaboratively with partners, customers, and communities to move closer to our carbon neutrality goals.

WAT Medical remains committed to designing technology that cares for both people and the planet.
